Training programs in Labor Relations are found in many high-ranking universities in countries with well – established systems of higher education. Such as USA, Australia, Germany, and Sweden. In Vietnam, Ton DucThang University is the first to train in Labor Relations. The Faculty has trained eight cohorts so far with nearly 1,000 students studying, and with a post-graduation employment rate of 99.2%. Graduates typically assume positions in the human resources departments of enterprises, positions in specialized committees of the trade union system or positions in state labor management agencies. At present, many graduates have worked in the HR departments of big companies such as Bitis, TH True Milk, Ton HoaSen, and Anova Feed. And have served as staff for the Labor Federation in several districts in Ho Chi Minh City.

1. Labor Relations Management
Educational program:

  • Several world class TOP 100 internship programs in the field of Labor Relations Management, such as those of Cornell University, the University of Illinois, and Mc Gill University, provide students with opportunities to study at leading schools globally and include our program in Vietnam. The curriculum provides students with knowledge of human resource management, union organizing, labor law, labor relations, collective bargaining, and labor dispute resolution. Graduates are prepared for work in the human resources department of enterprises, as trade union officials or in state-run management agencies involved in labor relations management. The mission is to ensure that the interests of enterprises, and workers are aligned, and to promote the development of good labor relations and avoid labor conflicts.

Knowledge and skills gained:

  • Successful graduates help their organizations design policies that motivate employees, optimize pay and welfare, safety and health, ensure democracy, collective bargaining, and resolve disputes. They help to maintain good working relations between management and staff.
  • Students also develop a variety of soft skills in support of their careers: such as communication skills, teamwork, problem solving, negotiation, and leadership.

  3. Take positions in charge of labor relations in non-governmental organizations, and perform research projects on labor; Positions in state management agencies such as Labor, Disability and Social Affairs, and State Social Insurance.

2. Organizational Behavior
Educational program:

  • Several world-class TOP 100 internship programs in the field of Organizational Behavior, such as those of Cornell University, Mc Gill University, and Northwestern University, provide students with opportunities to study at leading schools-globally and include our program in Vietnam. The curriculum provides students with knowledge of organizational behavior, personnel management, motivation, change management, innovation and creativity, organizational culture, organizational development. Graduates are prepared for work in the human resources department of companies, consultancies or research organizations focusing on attitudes and behaviors of employees in the workplace. They will be able to help businesses design an effective HR management approach that promotes positive employee behavior in the workplace, and carries several results such as increased job satisfaction, increased engagement and loyalty to the organization, and effective and efficient work.

3. High quality program 

Learning program: 

  • The Organizational Behavior (High Quality) is offered in 8 semesters, with the total cumulative credits required for each student to graduate is 134 credits . The subjects in 2 last years are conducted in English. The training program follows the world's Top 100 training programs in the field of labor relations management, such as Cornell University (USA), the University of Illinois (USA) as well as McGill University (Canada). The high quality program is developed based on standard program as well as recommendations from the top human resource managers. Students have more internship chances in multinational enterprises since the first year; and study abroad in a semester.

  • Learners will have a high level of competences in international working environment. Besides, the job positions for graduates relate to internal communication, organizational culture, human resource traning and development, innovation and creativity management. 
  • Learners will be equipped specialized knowledge, soft skills as well as research skills for further graduate education programs ranked Top 100 in the world. 

Highlights of the high quality program:

  1. Students have internship chances weekly from the 2nd to 4th year. 
  2. All of subjects since the 2nd year are conducted in English with active teaching methods in order to encourage students in self-study and research projects. Additionally, lecturers concentrates on designing students’ activities such as presentation, question and answer (Q&A), group discussion and role-playing excercises instead of the explicit teaching. 
  3. In term of learning evaluation, the process evaluations and final examination in subjects totally focus on project excercises, research papers. 
  4. Lecturers  have post-gradate degrees, specialized knowledge in labor relations and trade unions fields and teaching experiences in English as well; and 20% international professors from Top 100 universities will teach some major subjects. 
  5. The excellent managers from international enterprises, organizations teach at least 50% major subjects with 6-12 sessions per subject. 
  6. Students study some subjects abroad for exchanged learning programs, particularly at least 3 subjects. 
  7. Faculty cooperates with an international career organization to examine student’s capabilities, which supports students in achieving international certificate after graduation.
  8. Students have internship chances in international and multinational enterprises as well as conducting graduation thesis in English.
