Ton Duc Thang University signs Memorandum of Understanding with Thanh Nien Newspaper
On October 24, 2024, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) and Thanh Nien Newspaper signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish and develop partnership in four areas: education, training, events, and human resources.
The delegation of Thanh Nien Newspaper led by Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan - the Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper visited, had a working session and signed a MoU with TDTU.
Welcoming and working with the Thanh Nien Newspaper delegation, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) was represented by Dr. Tran Trong Dao – the President of TDTU, along with members of the President Boards, and heads of TDTU's faculties, departments, and centers attended the ceremony.
The Thanh Nien Newspaper delegation visited notable facilities at TDTU such as the Inspire Library, the five-star dormitory, the sports complex and Vietnam - Finland International School (VFIS). After the tour, Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan shared that, although he and many colleagues from Thanh Nien Newspaper had visited TDTU during various seasons of the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament, the delegation was very impressed by the University’s investment and dedication to education and training after today’s visit. Not only were they impressed by the modernity, scale, and meticulousness of facilities and equipment, but the Thanh Nien Newspaper delegation was also truly impressed by the educational achievements of the University as evidenced by the sight of students lining up to get into the elevators and bowing to greet guests on campus.
“If the core values of Ton Duc Thang University are “Quality and Trust”, then the motto of Thanh Nien Newspaper is “Generosity, Kindness, Humanity, and Trust”. Thus, both organizations, meeting by chance, are aligned in our pursuit of trust. I firmly believe that the cooperation between the two organization is not only due to the similarities, but will also help each other enhance the values that each side pursues.” Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan shared at the meeting.

On this special occasion, the Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper also expressed his gratitude to the leaders and staff of the University for accompanying the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament through 2 seasons and the upcoming season 3 and the first season of the International Youth Student Football Tournament. At the same time, he thanked the University for choosing to accompany the program "Accompanying children in life" by deciding to join hands with Thanh Nien Newspaper to help orphans not only complete 12 years of general education but also confidently enter university. Journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan shared that, up to this point, the Newspaper has accompanied and mobilized support and sponsorship from the social community to support 100 orphans affected by the recent severe storms and floods in the northern mountainous provinces, particularly focusing on those in Lao Cai and Cao Bang.

According to the content of the MoU between the two organizations, both sides are committed to implementing key pillars of cooperation in education, training, events, and human resources.
Specifically, Thanh Nien Newspaper prioritizes the arrangement of plans to receive TDTU students of suitable majors to intern at Thanh Nien Newspaper as part of practical skills; prioritizes recruiting TDTU students; shares documents from the Newspaper's Documentation Center to support research and teaching activities of TDTU lecturers and students; coordinates and supports TDTU in communication activities, admissions consulting, etc.
TDTU commits to supporting the display of Thanh Nien printed newspaper in library spaces, training facilities, and faculties of the University; sending students majored in Social sciences and humanities, Marketing, Sports business, and Event organization to practice their courses at Thanh Nien Newspaper according to annual agreements specified in separate contracts; coordinating with the Newspaper to organize a number of annual scientific seminars; supporting locations and hosting the Vietnam Youth Student Football Tournament and the International Tournament depending on the annual plans of the Organizing Committee. In particular, TDTU will accompany Thanh Nien Newspaper to offer scholarships for students who are part of the orphan sponsorship program initiated by the COVID-19 pandemic - Accompanying children in life sponsored by Thanh Nien Newspaper. These students will receive a scholarship of 20% off tuition throughout their studies until graduation. Additionally, there will be various scholarship policies and tuition discounts for children of Thanh Nien Newspaper employees, according to the University's policies.
