Seminar about "Labor Relations in Vietnam and all over the world"

From January 12 to January 23, 2021, the Faculty of Labor Relations and Trade Unions, Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) organized an online Seminar about “Labor Relations in Vietnam and all over the world" with the participation of more than 30 experts, lecturers from Cornell University, Faculty of Labor Relations and Trade Unions, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), businesses and students from Cornell University and TDTU.
The seminar about “Labor Relations in Vietnam and all over the world" provides information including specific contents such as changes to the Vietnam Labor Law 2019; human resource management; social responsibility; wages and benefits system of employees in Vietnam; Labor Relations situations in Vietnam and in the US during period from 2017 to 2020.
On the morning of January 13, 2021, Dr. Nguyen Dinh Hoa - Head of Faculty of Labor Relations and Trade Unions gave a presentation on the topic "Human resource management, Social responsibility and Salary and welfare system of employees in Vietnam".
On the morning of January 14, 2021, Ms. Tran Thi Lan Anh, Deputy Secretary-General of the VCCI gave a presentation on the topic "Introduction to VCCI and information on labor relations in Vietnam in recent years and the labor situation during epidemic Covid 19”. Ms. Nellie J. Brown, Director of Workplace Health and Safety Programs for the Worker Institute at Cornell University's School of Industrial and Labor Relations presented the topic of Health and Safety.
On the morning of January 16, 2021, Mr. Richard Fincher and Larry Fisher from University of Arizona for the Hopi and Navajo Mediation Program introduced the book and presented the topic “SEA indigenous mediation” in negotiation.
On the morning of January 18, 2021, Ms. Ha Thi La - Deputy Dean of Faculty of Labor Relations and Trade Unions presented the topic "System and functions of the Vietnamese Trade union". After that, experts, lecturers and students of the two universities asked questions and had further discussion.
In other discussions during seminars, the experts in the field of Labor Relations shared with the lecturers and students of the two universities very interesting and useful topics.
With the aim of creating a long-term research and training partnership with Cornell University, creating an environment for academic exchange to improve the research capacity of industrial relations for faculty and researchers, TDTU in general and the Faculty of Labor and Trade Union in particular organize many activities to improve capacity and efficiency to contribute to build harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in Vietnam and other countries around the world.
